Your fully tax-deductible donation supports our ongoing commitment to new and innovative poetry and translations in high-quality editions. At this time, our staff is entirely volunteer, but we have recently begun to provide advances for our authors and stipends for our guest editors. These are some of the basic costs associated with printing and publishing our books:

$50-$150 pays for an ad in a poetry or review publication such as St. Mark’s Poetry Project Newsletter, The Boston Book Review, or our distributor’s catalog.

$250 pays costs associated with one of the following promotional activites: printing promotional postcards and brochures, postage for direct mailing to independent bookstores, or postage for advance reader and reviewer copies.

$350 buys us a table at the annual Associated Writing Programs Conference & Bookfair where we can meet and talk with writers, professors and program directors from colleges and universities around the country, as well as reviewers and other editors.

$500 pays an author advance or the guest editor stipend for two issues of Aufgabe.

$1,000 contributes to travel costs for an author book tour.

$2,500 pays basic printing costs for one of our publications in an edition of 1000 copies.
